2 Easy DIY Beach Home Decor Ideas | DIY Seashell Jar & DIY Dreamcatcher

Hey what’s up you guys? My name is Emily
and in this video I’m going to show you how to make two beach
themed room decor ideas. In the comments down below let
me know which DIY is your favorite and if you like this video
give this video a thumbs up and subscribe to see more DIYs. Lets get on with the video! The first DIY I’m going to show you how
to make is this really easy seashell jar. You want to put a piece of tin
foil or a piece of paper down so you don’t get paint on anything. Then you can get a mason
jar or any kind of jar and you want to paint the jar with
one or more colors of any color of paint. I used this old jar that
was already painted pink. All I needed to do with my
jar was to touch up the jar with the same color of paint because
there was paint missing on the jar. When the paint is dry you can glue
a seashell onto the front of the jar. The last thing you can do is that you can take
a piece of twine and tie a bow onto the jar and that’s how you
make this seashell jar. The last DIY I’m going to show you
how to make is this dreamcatcher. You want to start off by gluing the end of
some ribbon onto a hoop with hot glue. Then you can wrap the ribbon
all the way around the hoop. I used an embroidery hoop but you
can use any type of hoop that you want. When you’re done wrapping
the ribbon onto the hoop, you can cut off the
ribbon you don’t need and then you can glue the
end of the ribbon onto the hoop. Now you can get some
string that’s a similar or a different color than
the ribbon that’s on the hoop and you want to tie the
string into a knot onto the hoop. I used thread but you can use whatever
you want for the web of the dreamcatcher. Now you can make a loop with the string
and then you want to go around the hoop and then you want to pull the string
through the loop and tighten the string. You want to make the same
loops all the way around the hoop. Once you’re done going
around the hoop the first time you want to continue making the same
loops on the string instead of the hoop. All you have to do for
the rest of the web, is that you want to keep
going around the hoop until you like how the web
of the dreamcatcher looks. When you get to where
you want the web to stop you can tie a knot where
you want the web to stop at and then you can cut
any extra string off. Then you can take another
piece of string and tie a loop and then you want to tie a knot. This is how the dreamcatcher
will hang on a wall. Now you can get some seashells
that you can get at a craft store and you want to layout how you want the
seashells to look like on the dreamcatcher. You can put as many seashells and as many rows of seashells
as you want onto the dreamcatcher. Then you can tie a
piece of string for each row of seashells onto
the bottom of the dreamcatcher. When you’re done tying the
string onto the dreamcatcher, you can glue the
seashells onto the string. If you want you can put a piece
of paper underneath the string and the seashells so
you don’t glue them to anything else like your table. When you’re done gluing
the seashells onto the string, you can cut off any extra
string off of the dreamcatcher and then you’ll be done
with your dreamcatcher. and that’s how you make
these beach room decor ideas! In the comments down below let
me know which DIY is your favorite and if you like this video
give this video a thumbs up and subscribe to see more DIYs. I will see you in the next video. Bye!
