(bright music) – Hi everyone, how’s it going? So I remember when I was
living in New England, I really hate it when fall peeps in and I can feel the chill, cold weather. But now that I’m living in California, it’s really hard for me to
track the change in seasons. Especially around this time of year, it feels really hot and just like summer. So I want to get back into
that fall, festive mood again. It’s so crazy how I used to hate it and now I am craving for it! So today I’m going to show
you guys some decoration ideas as well as DIYs that you’re
going to love to make for your home this fall time. Let’s go ahead and get started. Here’s a great way to welcome
your guests this fall, with a cute pumpkin planter. You’re going to need a pumpkin. I’m using a foam pumpkin for this project. Let’s start by carving the top open. After that, we’re going
to add some craft moss around the rim of the pumpkin. Take out some tack craft glue and place it around the
rim of your pumpkin. You can also use hot glue to do this, but if you are using hot glue, then you will need to do
this section by section. As you are placing the
moss around the pumpkin, fold the edges inward. Get a cute pot of flowers or succulents and make sue that it’s small enough to fit inside your pumpkin. (bright music) For the second DIY, we’re
going to paint some pumpkins. What I love about this is that
it’s a more contemporary look for a fall home decoration. The first step is to paint
your pumpkin with a base color. You can use acrylic paint, or you can use any color of your choice. After the paint is dry on your pumpkin, it’s now time to mix your
acrylic paint or craft paint. Mix between two to three shades of gray, and then with a thin brush, you can make squiggly little lines between the dark gray and the light gray. As you can see, I have one
shade of gray right here, but I dab my brush into a little white, and then dab my brush into a light black to just give me different
contrasts in gray. The less perfect you are with your lines, the more realistic this will look. As you can see, my tabletop
is a real marble slate, and it’s just very abstract, there’s lines all over the place, there’s not really any pattern going on. So just have fun with this. The messier it is, the more
realistic it will look. This next step, you’re
going to go in with a sponge and smudge your design. I know it’s strange because you worked so hard on your design, but
you want to kind of smudge it and let it blend in with the base color. After that you’re gonna
take your thin brush again and then add in the little
detailings that you just did, go over where you add the lines, and then add in some dark
grays here and there. If you want to add a nice
gold metallic accent to this, you can paint the stem of your
pumpkin with some gold paint, or whatever paint of your choice. This next DIY is a special one. It’s definitely one of a kind and a perfect centerpiece that
will bring the room together. To make this, you will need a blank canvas any size of your choice,
and any colors you like. I will be playing around with
some acrylic paint today. My choice of colors are grays, black and a little bit of gold. Don’t feel discouraged if
you’ve never painted before, you will be surprised by how easy and beautiful this will look. You can use any color of your desire. Paint on a base color first. I love neutrals and grays. My couch is also gray, so therefore I’m going
with this color theme so that way I can bring the room together. You do not have to
paint anything specific. Just turn on some good music
and paint with your feelings. Try using different brushes
to get unique brushstrokes. This is the time to just have fun and be playful with your painting. I’m going to add in the
little gold to accent. If you want to do this, you
would need some gilding adhesive and some gold foil sheets. Place the adhesive onto your desired area. Wait for a few minutes for
it to feel a little sticky. Once your glue feels a little tacky, you then want to place
the gold foil on top. Use a card or something
with a flat surface to rub the gold foil onto the adhesive, and then gently and slowly
peel off the gold foil. As you can see, my first
time looked like a disaster, but after that, you get a hang of this, and then you know what
to do with the gold foil. You can actually smudge
it with your hands. Take little pieces and place
them in different areas. Once you get the hang of
it, you have lots of fun being creative with the foil. We’re now going to make a feather banner. And this is perfect for those
that don’t like tedious DIYs and want something super easy. This is also a lovely way
to dress up the mantle. All you need are some white
or solid color feathers, or you could cut out some paper feathers, which I have made before in a past DIY. Take out craft or metallic
paint, any paint of your choice, and just lightly dab some of that paint to the bottom tip of your feather. You can also dab some paint on the sides, get creative with it,
make it any way you like. After the paint dries, cut
out a string long enough to hang across your mantle, and tie each feather five inches apart. I love, love my fireplace so much, but living in California,
it is too hot to turn on. Instead, you can still
create the warm ambiance with some beautiful lanterns. You can go to your local
Target, Home Goods, or JoAnn’s, that’s where I got mine, and find different sized candles to place inside your lanterns. Light them up at night time
and turn off your lights, so that way you can enjoy
the peaceful, serene feeling and the sensation of a fireplace. All right guys, that is it for today. Make sure to give this
video a big thumbs up if you enjoyed it. And also comment below, let me know what are some of your
favorite fall festivities, like making s’mores, sitting
in front of the fireplace, any of that, I just love to hear it because it makes me get into
the fall, festive mood again. Thank you all so much for watching. Subscribe if you have not, just click on the subscribe button. And thumbs up this video, I
think I mentioned that already. Other than that, thank you all so much. I make weekly videos, and
