Aleene’s Wool Felt Christmas Trees Wall Art by Tiffany Windsor

Hi! I’m Tiffany Windsor. The holidays are fast approaching but
there’s still time to create some fun quick and easy holiday decorations. For
this project I’m using my Aleene’s Turbo Tacky Glue. Now this dries stronger and faster so it’s perfect for this project. I found this 100% wool felt that will make a beautiful background
for my wall hanging or door hanging and it’s available in many different colors And, I wanted to give it more stability so
I’m going to be gluing it onto this cork that comes in a roll. In order to apply my Aleene’s Turbo Tacky I’m going to use a squeegee which is just a piece of cardboard or an expired gift card, and you just squeegee your glue onto the cork. Be sure when applying your glue that you get it all the way to the edges because you want that felt to be secure along all the edges. Next I’m going to line it up with a couple of straight edges and just press that wool felt in place. I love using the wool felt, it’s very luxurious, the colors are beautiful. You could use
regular felt for this project but I love the look of the wool felt. Press it down securely and go ahead and cut off the excess cork. While the glue is drying on the background, we can take our second piece of our wool felt to start cutting out the trees. I’ve cut my tree patterns from plain white copy paper and I’ve cut them in different sizes to fit onto the background. You can just lay your patterns out and just cut along the edge, these don’t have to be exact so
you can just hold them in place. I have cut out all three of my felt trees and be sure and
save the extra felt. These can be used for your needle
felting projects or other crafting projects. Take your Aleene’s Turbo Tacky Glue and apply glue along the edges so that you can glue your Christmas
trees down onto your background. Also in the needle felting department
you’ll find these little embellishments these little circles that are all ready to go that will make some fun ornaments for our trees. Apply your Aleene’s Turbo Tacky to the back and
just glue these in place. I also took some of these and opened them up…cut them open…and made them a little bit smaller for the smaller tree. So you can also change the sizes of these. To hang this artwork I used green twine and I glued it to the back onto the cork and then I cut a piece of felt and glued that over the
looped twine and that holds it very securely in place. Then you just tie that on to a branch from
the yard. The Aleene’s Turbo Tacky Glue is available at Michaels. It’s Terrifically Tacky and Creatively Cool!
