Algonquin College Bachelor of Interior Design Program

[MUSIC] Hi I’m Kurt Espersen-Peters, I’m the coordinator of the Interior Design
degree program at Algonquin College.>>And I’m Dorothy Stern and I’m a professor in the Interior Design
Degree Program at Algonquin.>>Students entering our program are
introduced to the fundamentals of design in first year. After first year they’ll move on and study different areas of the interior
design discipline. Starting with residential design moving on
to retail they’ll move in to corporate hospitality and health care. And in their final year they will actually
do a senior project which is a directed study of an area of their choice.>>Between the third and fourth years of
the program, all students are required to complete a 14 week mandatory work term
called the coop program. This is an excellent part of our program
because it gives the students an opportunity to take what they’ve
learned in the previous three years and apply it in the workforce. Our program is best suited for any individual who’s interested in the
world of design. Our job, once you get to Algonquin College
is to take what you already know and love and to help you develop it even
further. And to become a professional interior
designer. [MUSIC]
