Canvas Wall Art Light #2

Canvas Wall Art Light #2

Hello everyone, I have another DIY and this
is my Canvas Wall Art Light number two. I leave the original version linked above
and below in the description box. The reason I’m am doing another version
is because a few people had an issue with how long it would take to cut out the design. So I decided to do a version for you that
doesn’t required any cuttingof the canvas. And it should a little bit easier for everyone. So, the first thing you are obviously gonna
need is a canvas. The next thing you are gonna do is find your
design. I just did this evil eye ‘I love you’
in photoshop. Then print it to whatever size you would like
it to be on your canvas. The next thing you will need is some sticky
back vinyl. Using some spraymount apply your design the
the back, the paper side of the vinyl. And the you are going to cut it out with a
scalpel. Now bear in mind, when you cut it out and
peel off the paper side, you will have a reverse image of your design. Mine is completely symmetrical, so you can’t
actually tell but it is reversed, because we are going to stick this to the back of
the canvas, rather than the front. I protected the front of my canvas with plastic
sealing the edges with masking tape, so that the grey only goes on the back. And basically what you are trying to do is
stop the light passing through the back of the canvas. I would recommend using a black normally but
the colour I’m using on the front of the canvas is quite light, it’s a quite a pale
pink and I didn’t want the black affecting the overall shade of the front of the canvas. But if you are using anything darker than
a pastel shade go for black on the back. I did 3 coats on the back of the canvas and
the removed the vinyl. And you should be left with a perfect shape
of your design which the light then will shine through. Then I removed the plastic and started to
paint the front of the canvas. For this I am using Plastikote’s new chalk
spray range in the shade Pale Rose. I did 3 coats of pink. Then I used the these ikes leds as my light
source. In my last video I applied these to the inside
of the frame but you can actually apply them directly to the wall, depending what works
best for your design. And that is my Canvas Wall Art Light number
two! Thank you so much for watching as always. Let me know in the comments which one you
prefer the original or the new one.And don’t forget to like, comment and subscribe and
I will see you next time!
