DIY: How to Paint Your Home

good morning this is Myron Thomas with
Thomas and Sons painting we’re here this morning to give you some
tips on painting a residential home when painting a home the first thing you
want to do is pick your paint you want a good paint you want a long-lasting paint
from a reputable parent company so if you’re going to paint once every
10 years you can go to your local hardware store and you can run a sprayer if you’re going to spray your home you
want to use at least twenty six hundred psi the psi stands for pounds per
square inch so what you want to do on a stucco
home like this is you’re going to want to spray it and you’re going to want to
back roll it so if you have one of the painters
following you as you spray you have your painter rolling the wall that ensures
that the paint gets in all the cracks and crevices that are involved with a
stucco paint job when it comes to painting the trim you want to use what’s
called a weenie roller it’s anywhere from two to six inches
long and it’s the size of a hot dog hence the name weenie roller it’s very
quick to roll the wood trim and then you go and lay it off with your brush
afterwards also you have to be careful because you
can end up spending a lot of money on materials you can put in a lot of time on
your own paint off and if you’re not doing it correctly and you have to call
a professional that could cost you more money to repair what you’ve done wrong and
then start over again if you decide to choose a painter you
want to check either the license number or the business name with your
Contractors State License port thanks for watching BBB pro tips please
