Easiest Way To Hang Pictures

easiest way to hang pictures hi it’s AlaskaGranny do have space that
you want to hang a picture or painting but you are not sure
exactly how to decide where to put it and keep it level
I’m show you a quick trick to how to hang a picture so it will be where you
want to be you need three simple items to hang your pictures you
need some gel are some kind of colored tooth paste you need
picture hangers make sure to notice the weight requirement on them to make sure they’re
strong enough to hold up the picture you’re going to hang and a common hammer I have a collection
of three pictures that I’m going to be hanging today and I first laid them out on the floor to see the arrangement that I wanted and now I
have an idea where I want them on the wall now I’m going to show you the easiest way
ever to know where to put your nails so that you can get them in where you want them
I decided approximately where I wanted the first
picture to go I put a little mark with a pencil so I can see that it is level and that is where I want it that doesn’t help me know where the nails need to be put in the hooks aren’t level with the top take your toothpaste stick these hooks up take the gel colored toothpaste put a dab of it right on the tip of the hook or hanger take your picture see the hangers are poking up figure out where your
marks are get your picture level you simply press it against the wall and the toothpaste leaves a mark you can see exactly where to
put your nail this is my favorite kind of picture hanger
holds up in earthquakes wind gusts slamming doors and children
running through the house so you get this bracket and then you
put a nail that comes with it right through it and
then you hammer that into the wall and then the hook is secure because it
has this extra it keeps it from falling off and then it has the hook at the bottom
which keeps it hung on there securely they might sway around but they don’t
fall off find your first mark put your bracket against with a nail
sticking out and then hammer it in and repeat with the
next one now hang your picture take the little hooks and slide them over your hanging apparatus I have two more pictures so I am going to do the same thing put a dab of toothpaste right on the back right on the tip of the hook and I’m going to hold it up and
press it against the wall already put a little mark where I want the
center of the picture so I am going to hold it right around there and press it and I can see the toothpaste where the nail will go so I’ll take my
bracket put it right there now take a nail slide it into the bracket and hammer it in wipe off the toothpaste slip this over the hook and my picture is right where I wanted it I am going to repeat that with
the third picture as well dab of toothpaste press it against the wall hold the bracket right up to the dot hammer it in hook my picture right on to the bracket I have all three of my paintings exactly
where I want them and they are ready to go in just a few
moments use a dab of toothpaste to help you secure your picture to the wall make sure
you also choose a hanger that holds the weight of your picture and fasten it securely so your pictures don’t come crashing down then look I can enjoy my
favorite new pictures helping me to enjoy my home please subscribe AlaskaGranny channel alaskagranny.com

  1. this is the most simple clear video on YouTube of how to hang a picture. Trying to find a video where they didn't use a power drill (not everybody has those) with an array of drill bits or those plastic plugs or the need for wire cutters etc etc was a nightmare. Frankly D.I.Y has always intimidated and frustrated me but I do try to do as much as I can myself, so this video was a relief! Funny how the most simple, fuss free and straightforward video for D.I.Y was done by a woman…. whereas all the other ones focus on numbers, nail sizes, power drills and a host of other paraphernalia that most people don't just have lying around… all of those videos are done by guys lol!
I admire them for getting the job done but my God do they know how to complicate things lol

  3. Thank you so much, I have nobody to help me at home, and I dont have a power drill so this save my life! πŸ˜€

  4. Curious, why do you use nails instead of, say, screws? And you are not concerned about the studs, obviously. How heavy is something to make studs an issue (if a fair qs. πŸ™‚ ). Great video. I had no clue either, and you really simplified it. Tomorrow, poster pictures and a piece of video art (that's the reason for the stud question, thanks).

  5. In love with the toothpaste trick πŸ˜„I've been wanting to hang some photos for a while and this really helped

  6. one more tool needed….a pair of needle nose pliers to hold the nail. keeps you from smashing your fingers. this was extremely helpful!

  7. I find using Command strips much easier to use.Β  You can position the frame and remove it if you don't like the position.Β  Just press to desired position.Β  No nails, no toothpaste.

  8. I hold my picture on the wall….I know where the hanging thing is…I count down how many inches as to where to put the nail.

  9. THANK YOU ALASKA GRANNY :-)) Thumbs up on your toothpaste system for indicating the proper location to nail the picture hanger—-it works every time. NOTE: COLOR TOOTHPASTE PEOPLE ! Close-Up works well. Thanks A.G.

  10. Wow! Thank you so much. Just had a very frustrating experience hanging up 6 pictures with command strips. They don’t work! But I was hesitant on how to know where to put my nails. Thank you so much!

  11. This toothpaste method is bizarre. To accurately mark your holes for nails or drilling simply cut some painters tape to the width of the frame, place it on the back of the frame over where your holes or brackets will be and then mark with a pen where the hole is on the tape. Then take the tape off the frame and stick it on your wall. You can even use a spirit level on the tape once it's on the wall to make sure it's level. Why would you want toothpaste on your walls.

  12. There is a great app for hanging pictures called Hang-a-Pic. I have the Android version but I think there is an iphone version as well. Made it super-easy to hang pictures evenly across our wall. Tells you exactly where the nails go. No headaches πŸ™‚

  13. I use those hooks as well but I just use a tape measure to hang all my pics, mirrors, etc. I do it everyday so it is pretty quick for me but confusing and time consuming for those who only do it occasionally. Pretty interesting technique though.

  14. We found great little app for the iphone called Hang-a-pic to hang pictures evenly across any space. It does all the math for you and shows you exactly where to mark your nail positions. It saved us the headache of trying to figure out where to hammer in the nails evenly for hanging pictures. Just a great time saver for this kind of thing. Not sure if there is an android version though.

  15. Is hanging pictures on the wall still a thing? I can't keep a wallpaper on my phone for more than a day without getting bored.

  16. Thank you for this easy to follow video! I feel relieved that you showed us this method and now I'm ready to begin.

  17. Oh my..or you can just lay the back of pic on a copier..copy it..then you have a pic of the back of your frame with the hangers..put that on wall and drill thru hangers.
