Good morning Hi everybody, I have a Nancy Ganzekaufer right? I said it right. I think I’m pretty close with me this morning and she is an interior design business coach and she really focuses on a lot more of the Local in person design as well as your online presence So I thought she was gonna you know she’d be a great guest to have for the edesign tribe because I know not all of you guys are focusing just on a design so Nancy has a extremely thorough course and a wonderful Facebook group that I just shared with you guys About an hour ago if you wanted to join there but I just wanted to chat with her for a little bit this morning and get to know a Little bit more about her about the course and maybe get a couple of tips for you guys too. So Nancy welcome So you have a very active group. I love your group. Thank you. Thank you There was you know a niche for it and really know community and it’s just bringing so many different people together So you’re actually the only business coach that I have in my group so because I don’t know I just really like you Yeah, you know what I observe and I look for people’s pain points But I love what you’re doing because II design is definitely excuse my dog is on my lap. So if you see my petting You know Millie everyone knows Millie, right? So yeah a design is definitely a great addition to Existing interior designers business models or new interior designers that are coming in. Thanks Sorry, I just put up Comments. I was looking at the comments on my boat I’ve done that again again if you see me looking around because I have three monitors so I actually could see if we’re live and if anybody’s commenting or watching but I’m the availa Okay So yeah, I think that a design is a great addition to anyone’s business model But what I really focus on is making more money and attracting more clients Those are the two things that every interior designer struggles with some point in their career and it’s really a combination of Being really clear on your own goals Knowing who you want to work with and sometimes that takes time and it changes over the years and then having a really simple business model because interior design is so complicated and so detail-oriented then I like to not complicate the business side like simple is really what I’m all about when it comes to their marketing and Attracting their ideal client and making money. So that’s what I teach Yeah, I love that. I’m same same thing for me. Don’t over talk more complicate it one thing at a time Exactly exactly. You know what? There’s so much information out there now and that’s part of the beauty and the problem. Mm-hmm Yeah, absolutely. So many different avenues you can take online and it’s like what is the best for you? And if you just keep it simple You you get through it, so Robyn and Stacey, good morning. You’re commenting. I can’t see who comments on here. So I keep looking to the sky Can this be live? So so you have a course and you also do on coaching So do you want to tell us a little bit about what your course includes because it’s there’s a lot in there There’s a lot in there. So basically happen is I’ve worked in the interior design industry for twenty years I was an odd consultant odd framing and accessories So I worked with interior designers for 17 years in the clients homes behind the scenes Asking my advice because I’m all business and I decided to hang my shingle as a coach about three and a half years ago Over that time I maxed out on one-on-one clients, and I’ve maxed out on groups So what was the next thing for me? Okay, what do I teach over and over again? And how can I put this into a course that people will actually do because I want people to actually go through the course You know some people buy the courses and they don’t actually do them So I made a video Course it’s video. It slides. It’s a forum to ask me questions and I Go over basically it’s the equivalent of nine or ten sessions with me one Wow on Everything that I teach over and over again So we go through your roadmap to success like creating an action plan three years one year 90 days then we go over your ideal client profile and I really hammer it down with you and Again, the beauty is that form that I have within the course they can ask me anything, but just last week I actually created a private Facebook group just for the course purchasers and already they’re asking questions clarifications and I’m going live and doing like role plays with them because One of the biggest modules is nailing your sales closing conversation. How do you get someone from the phone? And I tell you it doesn’t take more than 15 minutes if you’re on the phone people for an hour It’s it’s you’re doing something wrong So you take them from the phone call to the paid consults? And I’m very big on your first consult needs to be a paid consult Yeah, so I teach them all the words around how to do that. My desire sales formula I also teach them. I have an objection formula whatever they say I walk you through what you should say back and it’s all very non salesy and conversational in addition to the actual business model that I teach the the three service models that keep it simple but satisfy any need a client that you want to work with would actually You’ll have the exact business model that you need the payment plan How it works how you should set up your systems how to come across professionally Eliminate client complaints by being you know communicate very clearly right from the beginning So we go over all that in the course and so much more I’m actually looking how to grow your client base how to create a ladder of services that get people Slowly up to your highest level if that’s eventually what they need follow-up series email sequences Facebook promoting Facebook lives Instagram and I have guest coaches in there for your website your branding and Kind of dressing for success because I Never everything but I try to put Really what I teach for the first 10 sessions and what’s great about it is its lifetime access I’ve been putting I’ve been doing updates like someone said to me it would be really helpful to be able to download the slide So I could take notes on the slides. I’m like hmm. Absolutely So we just added that to the course knowing that people wanted to ask me questions on a more regular basis I added the private Facebook group. So It’s um, it’ll be updated as the years go by and they’ll be able to Realistic rate response from it. Yeah. Yeah, I can see that Um, you you all were linked in also, right, but do I go to LinkedIn in the course? I don’t think I don’t agree Okay a little bit but for in depending on the interior designer LinkedIn is not one of my top. It’s really What you teach Pinterest Facebook Instagram would be my top three hits. I mean, I’m big on LinkedIn I have about 15,000 connections on LinkedIn so I know how to grow the LinkedIn and it’s certainly something I can answer in the group for the course Purchasers, but I just touch on it in the course because unless you’re really high-end LinkedIn is probably not your first course of yeah getting yeah, that’s what I’m thinking too. And that’s I just wanted to ask you Oh, I had to hear because there’s a lot of people that I’ve been asking me and it’s just you know You set up a LinkedIn years ago and then it kind of collects dust a little bit But I think it might be coming back a little bit. But exactly what you said for the higher end That’s where all the business people are So, you know that different niches definitely accessible. Okay. Awesome. That sounds amazing. You have so much content Amount of content and the access to you, too and I do that for my course as well where I’d the private group because sometimes you just need to go live and talk about it because it just Resonates a little bit more when you can hear it firsthand, so it’s important Yeah, because the one who’s taken my course now she was doing the objection formula like when somebody says, you know We can’t afford it right now or I have to ask my husband. I Talked you through exactly what you should say in all those situations, but she still was having trouble with like the presentation of it so because I’m also becoming a certified body language and your Nonverbal brand is so important I was able to go in there and do a roleplay and show her exactly how it’s all in your tone of voice Your body language your facial expression how confident you are in delivering these messages and People just don’t question it if you can get all that straight and I go over a lot of that That’s amazing to you know, go into that niche – because it’s not something that we really think about as interior designers but they’re looking at us and they’re judging us from the second we get on the phone or talk to them or even Just the online presence. Yeah, Jenna 75% of whether somebody really likes you trusts you is your Nonverbal brand seven nice percent. I didn’t realize there was that much it is a Point of like if they don’t even hear your words if we went mute right now and we were still talking But they couldn’t hear what we were saying Would they trust us based on our body language online or in person from across the room? You can predict who gets hired for a job without even hearing one word that they say just by observing from a distance Wow So it’s really cool. Yeah, I like that. Okay, I gotta learn more about there Is definitely gonna be about confidence and body language because it’s an incredibly powerful tool in your networking in your sales in your marketing It’s really key I’ve always been so intuitive when it comes to something like that It’s just a trait but definitely capitalizing on that and I’m learning more about it. I think that would be fascinating. Okay, awesome So is that that’s everything that’s included in your course and I don’t want to belittle it but that is so much Everything over again sharing compelling content what your email should be about what your blogs could be about little tips and tricks that I use to make my life easier when to hire How to hire job descriptions we go over it all in there. It’s amazing. I love it. Okay Do you have any tips for anybody that is starting out right now? Because there’s a lot of you know Just totally new people to the industry that are in my group that are kind of looking for we may want to do local maybe I wanted to eat design as well, but they just need started. So do you have any tips for them? Yeah get started What happens with so many people is they get locked up in the perfectionism of My website has to be perfect before I put myself out there My facebook business page and my personal page have to be perfect and I have to have content up there that’s not true and that Is being stuck in perfectionism? which a lot of interior designers are because they need to be Perfectionist when it comes to the designs that give to other people in their homes but when it comes to growing your business the very best thing that you can do and this is my third business and like You know of coached hundreds to grow their business and become profitable and make the money they deserve is Start doing it because in doing it is where you’re going to start fine-tuning. What’s working? What’s not working? so sharing Putting yourself out there getting your business in words, which is your elevator pitch I’d say is one of the first things it’s the beginning of your branding process It’s a free exercise that I have on my website under resources. It’s called your business in words. It finds who you are Who your ideal client is today? Who you think it is? And again? It’s okay if that changes over the years How you do your process and the excitement you feel when you’re done that excitement that’s going to relay to other people so I would say Get your license to operate a business. That’s absolutely number one So you’re doing it right from the beginning and then just start talking to people about what you love to do Both in social media and in person and once you do that you you’re going to start attracting people Your vibe attracts your tribe, right Well, no, but it should be right for this coin that yeah, you should take that It’s so true it really is and this is something you know, like I started with my website too Didn’t know how to build a website But knew that I needed one so started with just the basics and each Have to do it like it and I’m tweaking it every single week. There’s something new social media I’m changing it up, but he’s tested you see what works and you dive in and it’s okay to make mistakes And that’s alright. You just have to start it. Yes. My first facebook live was pathetic I mean my first weekend winddown, which is my weekly Facebook live show on Fridays at 4:30 it was Terrible and I just you know, I keep it out there. I don’t delete anything from my past It shows people that I didn’t know what I was doing in the beginning either but you learn you Follow the people who can teach you but I also caution people against following too much at once Because they get that chasing shiny object and overwhelm, you know pick one thing at a time and master it Yes. Yeah, absolutely when it comes to your marketing I 100% agree and that’s why I don’t follow a lot of these other groups. I follow yours Thank you, and I play ball a couple blogging groups and you know other things like that But there’s so much content and there’s so much conflicting content out there that it’s confusing So I’m 100% with you on that. We have some comments. I think everyone is just loving it Bring my screen over to where I don’t look like I’m looking to the right I’m like all over the place Yeah, I mean it’s really I will tell you it drives a ton of people to me the fact that there are so many Fabulous coaches, and we’re all friends giving so much great information But it’s really hard when someone’s trying to distinguish. Well, that’s such a great idea Maybe that would work for me and that’s such a great idea. Maybe that should work with that’ll work for me And you know what the answer is? Yes, it might but you cannot do it all at once You have to pick your lane in the beginning and again I don’t care if you start out charging $150 an hour and then you go. Oh that’s not working though I need to charge more people are so worried about changing years I mean I started out free consults when I was first a coach and so my calendar blew up and then I went to $97 for an initial consult until I couldn’t fit anyone more and then you start raising your prices until Supply and demand so start out something you’re comfortable with that. You can deliver really confidently But not less than $100, please. Yes And I have a poll up today just to see what everybody was thinking on that. I’m glad you said it Wrote on your poll for some reason. I couldn’t I got something going on with my computer my polling But yeah There is no glory and being the least expensive and there’s not even any glory in being in the middle of the pack The glory is being the most expensive and having the service level to match So if you want to slowly get yourself up there, that’s really the path You could start out at a lower cost for the newer you know designers as LuAnn says the baby designers start out where you’re comfortable and you can deliver it really confidently, but as you start putting processes in place that make you more professional you can start raising your prices to match that nobody should be running a business and See something like High Point and say oh I can’t go because I can’t afford it this year That’s a means of disgrace as an interior designer I feel sorry that people are in that position and I’m on a mission to make sure everybody’s making money and everybody’s profitable otherwise Why do it unless you’re doing it as a hobby and you just enjoy it and I’m okay with that too if that’s your choice Yep Yep But you gotta be able to eat and enjoy the things that you love and still make money And be happy doing what you love so 100% with you. That’s awesome Okay, anything else you want to add? We’re gonna keep it short and sweet this morning. I Don’t think so I think that’s pretty much it unless somebody has questions that that I’m not seeing but I don’t see I think that they’re all just totally agreeing with you and Love it. So you do have a Facebook group that they can join that site included with the group, right? Behind Business Forum, the interior does my business form is my free open Facebook group. I try to go live there every day It’s very active. It’s growing fast. It’s growing like almost time. I’d see people a day it seems like lately, which is great And they can hop onto my website Nancy Gans a coffee calm to go to the resource page there’s a lot of free content there and Of course if they want to check out the course you have a link for that. You can check that in the feed So they can check out the course and that would be great If you have any questions for me, just tag me in your group or in my group and I always get on to answer Okay, awesome. I Didn’t do somebody asked how we can access how they can access your course and when it’s going to go live I added a link in the email that I sent out last night It’s also in edesign you as an affiliated course so you can see Nancy’s course right there And I think I pulled it in the Facebook group and I will post it again. Okay. Yes if throw it in comments It’ll be easy for them to find but I just want to mention when does it start It’s a self-study start whenever you I deliver all the modules at once my very first video says please go in order and don’t skip around because each lesson builds on the next but So they can start at any point and like I said its lifetime access. So as I enhance my Teachings I will enhance that course as well. So it’s a great deal and they have access to you for questions Which is even more valuable Absolutely, okay well They it looks like they have questions but I think that they’ll probably reach out to you to ask those And I’ll post the link here. So thank you so much for coming. I appreciate I love being here Any time anyone has a question for me again, even in your group they can tag me and I’m happy to answer. Okay, awesome Thank you so much happy yet when thing is it Wednesday?
