‘Frankston’s Flower Girl’ Mural at Bayside

This is a very big small gesture on the
part of Vicinity centres as part of their Reconciliation Action Plan to make
our centres a little more inclusive and a little more responsive to the needs of
our local community. We are a microcosm of the Frankston community and are
always looking at ways to improve perceptions of the area but Bayside
Centre is also looking at ways that we can bring people together to connect. Art tells our story. It gives us place and
we use art to talk about the stories of the land and it’s a way of maintaining our
culture. I really appreciate you putting this in here, it’s sort of a soft guard and
it works on your subconscious so I think it’s really great to start
incorporating this into the landscape around Frankston.
