Giclee Art Reproductions on Paper : Identifying Authentic Giclee Art Reproductions

Hi, I’m JK Dooley and I’m a professional artist
and we’re just going to touch briefly on things I’m sure if ever been on Ebay and seen oil
paintings for sale for a penny or four ninety-nine or twenty-five dollars and they say they are
original chances are their it’s called, it’s basically fake art. So you really want to
be aware and it’s one of the reasons that sometimes the sheet claim printing process
has run into some problems. People now have the ability to go on-line and copy artist
signatures and kind of impose, super impose them on work they have taken off, off of the
Internet. So typically what you want to make sure when you purchase a piece and now the
nice thing about being able to purchase work on-line and with the Evan of the Internet
is I had people contact me actually to make sure that the piece they were purchasing was
one that I had actually signed and produced and as an artist, I’m very happy to do that
because what that does is protect my name as well as my costumers’ investments. So one
of the things you always want to look for that we discuss before is the signature on
a piece of art and that’s something that you definitely want to be aware. There’s great
art being sold on-line but there’s always people who are going to try to take advantage
of you as well so keep that in mind.
