Headboard Ideas for Queen-Size Beds | Interior Design

So a queen bed is only a couple of inch difference
from a full-size bed, and actually when you’re shopping around for furniture, a queen and
a full are pretty interchangeable. Not only with bedding, but also with the headboard
itself. You’ll find that most headboards fit both
queen and full. Really the difference is, is that when you
get to the mattress. Because some rooms, you can’t really get around
a queen bed, if your room is tight, and so people just go for the full. So when you’re doing the headboard, you pretty
much just want to keep in scale with it. You want to make sure that there’s a couple
of inches left on either side of the mattress and then you can go as high or as short as
you’d like. I personally like a headboard that has a little
bit of fabric to it, but you’ve got to make sure it’s durable. The fabric makes it really comfortable. But the durability comes into play, because
if you’re a girl, like me, you put product in your hair, and then when you’re in bed
and you have your head against the headboard, it’ll kind of mess it up. So leathers are really good. Certain fabrics that have a tight knit, that
are darker in color. Then if you’re going for the more wood or
the metal, you just want to make sure that it’s comfortable. So get into bed and test it out in the show
room. It may seem funny to other people, but you’ll
be really happy when you get home at the end of the day.
