Hey, hi, I’m Tim Gipson and I’m going to talk
to you about how to determine the right size ceiling fan for your room. So the first that
you want to do is you want to measure the width and the length of your room and then
you multiply those two together and that will give you the square footage for your room.
And here are some guidelines as far as what size fan you want to use. So if you have a
room that’s up to seventy-five square feet, then a ceiling fan that has a twenty-six to
thirty-six inch blade will be fine. For seventy-six feet to a hundred and forty-four feet, then
you’d want to use a ceiling fan that’s in the thirty-six to forty-two inch range. Between
a hundred and forty-four and two hundred and twenty-five square feet, a forty-four inch
blade fan would work best. And then for those areas that are over two hundred and twenty
five square feet, then you want to go up to a ceiling fan that’s in the fifty to fifty
four inch range. And the other thing to consider is how high the ceiling fan is from the ceiling.
If you have an eight foot ceiling you want to use the standard ceiling mount that comes
with it. If it’s less than eight feet then you’d want to flush mount that ceiling fan.
And then for applications where it’s nine to twenty feet, you want to get the appropriate
extension. So in this case this ceiling fan we have here is mounted on a nine foot ceiling,
so as you can see we got just a little bit more of an extension than you’d normally have
on a standard ceiling fan. So I’m Tim Gipson and that’s how to choose the right ceiling
fan for your size of room.
