Today, we’re going to seal a leaking shower
screen. Simple job using silicone, sugar soap, and an icy pole stick and that’s it. All we need to do is just use silicone. End’s
been cut off. That’s ready to do. So all we need to do now is to run a bead of silicone
slowly down here, just enough to fill the gap. You’ll get it moving around a little.
It doesn’t matter. We’ll be wiping it off in a moment. And then, we’ll go all the way
through to the bottom. Don’t forget this little small section along the bottom because water
can still get through there, just along this bottom edge here. There we are. That’s it.
Done. The next step is we’ve got to clean this up
and make this look tidy and smart. So believe it or not, I’m going to use an icy pole stick
to take off the excess silicone. Wipe it onto the rag. And once we’ve done that, we’ll look
at cleaning up the rest. Up we go. Don’t try and do the whole lot in one shot because you’re
going to have silicone everywhere. As you can see, we’re getting there. I’ll work my
way now from the bottom. There’s a little bit of excess there, but that’ll come off
with the soapy water. And we’ll get that looking really smart and tidy. The next step is to get our sugar soap. Give
it a spray all the way down the joint. Next, wipe it with a cloth to get the nice smooth
finish. If you go too fast, you’re not going to get the same pressure. You’re not going
to get it looking neat. Just be patient and it’ll work nicely. And that’s how you seal a shower screen.
