How To Install: A Kitchen Faucet

Replacing our updating your kitchen faucet
is a great way to introduce new design elements to your kitchen. Today we’re going to show
you how to update your kitchen faucet. Here’s some tools you’re going to need to get the
job done; A basin wrench. Adjustable wrenches. New supply lines. Plumber’s tape. A work light.
A bucket. Plumber’s putty and a putty knife. First turn off the water to make sure you
don’t make a mess. Seriously, or you’re going to get wet. Turn on the sink again to get
any remaining water out. Now disconnect the supply lines from the faucet to the connections
on the wall. Make sure to place the bucket underneath to catch any water. Using a basin
wrench, remove the hardware underneath that’s holding the faucet in place. With the hardware
removed and the supply lines disconnected, remove the old faucet. Clean the space under
the plate if necessary. Add the new plate to the mount. This is where you’ll usually
install the putty around the edge of the plate. For our particular install we didn’t need
the putty. Make to double check the manufacturer’s instructions in regards to the best method
for installing. Now attach the new supply lines to the faucet. Make sure to use the
plumber’s tape. When using plumber’s tape always wrap the tape in the same direction
that the fitting will be tightened. Once the plate and supply lines are in place guide
the new faucet into the hole. Next, connect the mounting hardware of the new faucet to
secure it underneath. Then connect the supply lines to the connections on the wall. With
the bucket underneath the pipes turn the water back on. Turn the sink on to check for leaks
and adjust any pipes or lines as necessary. And now enjoy your new faucet. We hope that

  3. I'm an idiot and was hoping to actually see how to attach the water connection to the faucet. I now see that it is much easier to do that before tightening the faucet but still this video just fast forwards over that part. I was having a hard time getting two wrenches (as per the manufacturers instructions) between the 9" sink and finally went out and bought a basin wrench. Guess I will do what they do in the video but it would have been nice to not skip over those parts or at least comment for people like me with zero experience.
