I’m Mark Kooy here with Expert Village and
we are going to be talking about wire sculptures, braising techniques and tools. Okay in building
our figure today, we are just going to do a basic figure. A couple of things in design
principles that we are going to discuss and keep in mind as we design and create our piece.
There are about a dozen of these that we follow. But the ones that we are going to kind of
look at are proportion and today we are actually going to kind of look at an exaggerated proportion,
longer legs to like say normal people. We are going to look for contrast, we are going
to look for what our dominant theme or object nativity of the sculpture itself in the form.
We are going to be looking a the rhythm and movement of this. So proportion, rhythm, movement,
contrast and dominance. that is not all of the principles of the design but those are
the ones that we are going to kind of look at in this particular piece.
