(VOICEOVER): Turn a plain fence into a focal
point with a custom painted wall mural. All right, Dan, we got
to talk about this wall. I mean, I get it. I love that you call it a
wall even though it’s a fence because it’s so big, right. Well no, you’re right. It does, it feels
like a wall to me. And I get it,
privacy is important. Mm-hmm. What if we turned it into
kind of an art piece of its own by putting a large scale
graphic mural on it? OK. All right? This is the design
that I came up with. And I’m going to send
this to a copy center and have it blown
up to poster size. And then we’re going to use a
chalk transfer technique to get the pattern up on the fence. Cool. So you literally just
trace it on to the fence. We’re going to do
three panels worth, so it really will
have a big impact and make this eye sore
more of an art piece. Yeah. And if we tag team it
we can knock it out. -Twice as fast.
-Twice as fast. So let’s get to it. All right, let’s do it. So what we’re going to do
is flip it over and cover the surface with
chalk so that we can transfer the chalk pattern. OK. Just all over? All over. Sweet. Drag. I can do this. Right? This is like tap into
your inner 3-year-old. Oh, cool. All right, let’s get
this up on the fence. All right. Let’s see if it worked. Ah, look at that. Cool. It looks amazing. But chalk, not permanent. So we better get
some paint up here. Done. Done? Are you done? It looks awesome. Not too shabby, right? I want to take some fine
grit sandpaper and rough it up a little bit to make it
look like it’s kind of always been here.
-Yeah, a little more vintage. -Yeah.
-That’s cool. You were so right. It look good. It’s exactly what
it needed, right? For sure. I dig it. I Love it. This fence now has a
completely unique focal point.
