How to Paint an Exterior Wall : Spot Priming When Painting an Exterior Wall

Hi, my name is Grady Johnson and I’m a professional
painter and today I represent expertvillage.com. Okay, now we’re going to be doing some spot
priming. Now, before we get into the actual work, I want to talk a little bit about pouring
up. Let’s go ahead and pour that in there, get that done just stripe it off, that’s how
we pour out. Now, we’re ready to get going, let me get rid of this stick. Okay, now we’re
going to grab our ladder and what we’re looking to do is spot prime any of these spots that
are raw, simple as that. You’ll notice the part I’m priming is all the raw areas, it’s
not all of it but just the places that raw. Now, this fascia is raw all the way down,
so we’re painting all of that. But on this wall we’re only getting the areas that are
actually raw. You can see when you’re putting this on the primer is very, very thick. This
is how we spot prime a wall to prepare it for painting.
