How To Raise The Temperature on a Rinnai Tankless Water Heater | DIY Home Improvement

Hey guys. Today I’m going to show you how to raise the temperature on this Rinnai Tankless Water Heater. If you stuck at 120, I’m going to show you how to get to 140 degrees. So let’s get started. So we have to remove these strips. There’s finishing strips that are on the edges here. So we’re just gonna pull them to the right. On this particular model, that’s the way they were on there. You just pull them off. They have these clips and they just clip right on. I’m just gonna put them down. Then there’s four screws that need to be removed. Which is what I’m gonna do now. Some models I would recommend you disconnect first. So you just pull the panel off. I’m just gonna put these screws in my pocket so I don’t lose them. Okay, so you can see here, It will only go to 120. It’ll go down, but won’t go any higher. On the panel here you’ll see button “A” and it needs to be plugged in. So you can’t unplug this model. Hold “A” Button for one second. The digital panel will change to 01A. The on and off button on the panel: hit it once and it turns to 01b. And then hold the “A” button again until it goes back to 120. You’re all set. You can now raise your temperature to 140. Bingo. Let’s put it back together now. We’re all done. That’s how simple it is to increase your temperature to 140. Now you must be cautious because your water will be 20 degrees hotter. That can burn. So if you’re going do this, be very cautious about getting into your shower or using your water. Okay, I’m gonna put the panel back on. We have 140 degrees, which was the target we were looking for. Put the four screws back in. The four screws are in. Now we’re going to slide these plastic covers on. Push them in like that. That’s it. All finished with 140 on the meter. Thanks for watching guys. 1. Most adults will suffer third-degree burns if exposed to 150 degree water for two seconds. Burns will also occur with a six-second exposure to 140 degree water or with a thirty second exposure to 130 degree water. Even if the temperature is 120 degrees, a five minute exposure could result in third-degree burns.
You should probably check your local codes before doing this you could be liable if a child gets hurt.
