How To Upcycle A Bedside Table With Wallpaper

I’m Ben and I’ll be showing you how to
upcycle a bedside table using wallpaper and a new handle. ♪ [music] ♪ Timber bedside tables are super easy to
find, just find them on marketplace or at an upshop. Give your bedside table a sand and a lick
of paint. To learn how to do that,
check out our other How To videos. I’ve painted this one white,
and then I’ll be adding some wallpaper to the front and some new handles to give
it a completely brand new look. So for this project,
you will need a drill and drill bit, Stanley knife and gloves,
a tape measure and pencil, a handle kit and screwdriver,
a float and wallpaper, wood glue and tray and roller. The first thing you need to do is take the
drawer out and remove the old handle. The wallpaper is going to go on the front
of the door from here to here, and from here to here. I’ll take my roll of wallpaper and cut off
enough to cover this entire area. Pour your wood glue into the paint tray
and then roll it onto the face of the drawer. Just be careful to only get the glue where
you want the paper to stick. Now, stick your wallpaper down. Make sure it’s straight before you
stick it on. ♪ [music] ♪ Use your float to smooth it out. Turn it upside down and
allow the glue to dry. Leave it for about an hour. Grab your gloves and Stanley knife and cut
the excess wallpaper off. The wallpaper looks great. Now, all I need to do is attach the new
handle. Use the tape measure to find the center of
the drawer so you know where to put the handle. Find the center of your handle and
position it over your mark. Mark where your screws will go. I’ve marked where I’ll
screw the handles in. Now, I’m going to drill all the way
through the face of the drawer. So, now I’m just putting the buttons on
the leather strap and tightening them up. Already this looks amazing,
and now we’re just going to repeat the process for the other drawers. I’m really happy with how this turned out. We took an old bedside table,
added some new handles, a bit of wallpaper and it looks a million
bucks. Very happy. ♪ [music] ♪
