How to use Secure Shell (SSH) with Putty

Hey guys and welcome. Today we gonna explore how to access Secure
Shell using Putty. So the first thing is to have Putty installed
on your computer. You can get a link to download it on softonic,
or the official website. After downloading Putty to your computer,
you head over to your cPanel. I can do that while it downloads. So you head over to your cPanel, you go to
Secure Shell Access and you need to enable it for your account if it is not enabled by
default and you will be given your username and your password which you will use to log
in to your Secure Shell. So the download is complete. Am gonna click on that. If you are using Windows 10, it is a common
thing that maybe the file will not ask to be installed like you won’t get a prompt to
install Putty so that will mean that you run the file directly. It just brings up Putty. To log in you require an ip address and a
port. Don’t worry about the sessions and the other
things on the left hand side. Since I know my ip address, am gonna input
that. The Port am leaving it as default then I click
on open. So it successfully finds my server and and
asks me for the credentials. Back to my cPanel, you can see the hostname
can be replaced by the ip address which you input in putty. So here is my username and my account Password. Lemme enter those into Putty. So.. my username .. then it is prompting for
the password. When you enter the password, you won’t be
able to see it.. it is kind of a security feature. And we’re in. You can explore your directories, you can
list the folders and files that are in your home directory. so ‘ls’ and yeah that is how you access your
secure shell using Putty. After that you can explore everything that
you want, you can use Python which is a quite powerful tool if you want to use Django. Thank you for watching , I will see you in
the next one.
