Interior Design Tips: Thrift Store Must-Buys for Home Decor

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly
home decor accessories there’s no better place than your local thrift store. You
don’t need to have a keen eye for design to spot the perfect items. You just need
to know what to never pass on when you! visit. If you see it, grab it! I’m giving
you my four must-buys for home decor shopping at a thrift store. These are
easy to transform and they look amazing when you’re done. Talk about the biggest
bang for your buck! I love plates with pretty patterns and I
love a wall of plates! So rather than spending crazy amounts of money on
special decorative plates for your wall just head to the thrift store and search
for a variety of sizes and colors. You don’t even have to DIY them into
anything. Just lay them out and hang them up. You can even add to the wall over
time. You can paint or spray paint anything these days and one of the
easiest DIY tricks is to find yourself a little tchotchke, like this owl, and spray
paint it in a solid color. I love the look of white figurines on a shelf or
down the middle of your Thanksgiving Day table. You can find these types of
accessories in home decor stores like West Elm and Homesense but you can
make them for a lot less. So easy and inexpensive… like I said, big bang for
your buck. There’s something about throwing old books out that just doesn’t
sit right with me but finding them at a thrift store means they may find a new
home in your home. And don’t worry about what they look like. You can cover them
with coordinating colored papers or even parchment paper for an off-white look. I
love the look of books on shelves so if you need to fill your shelves, books from
a thrift store are a sophisticated way to do that and a must buy! if you’re working on a tight budget and
you need dining chairs the thrift store may not give you the best matching set
of chairs. It’s sometimes hard to find more than one of the same thing but I
love this idea. If you find several chairs of similar size and shape and in
good condition, it’s a must-buy. Paint them all the same color or even similar
shades of the same color and you’ll have a fun eclectic look for your dinner
table. I also love having simple wooden chairs throughout your home. Paint them a
great color and use them as a great accent piece. So here’s your take away…
shopping at a thrift store can be a great opportunity for major DIY
transformations, but never pass on decorative plates figurines old books
and wooden chairs. These can be transformed into amazing home decor
accessories for very little effort and cost. Thanks for watching this little
design tip, I’ll have lots more design tips just like this one coming soon so
