Leaf art with coloured pencil dust


Hi, this is Joelle Meijer. I propose a simple activity to better discover
the outline of leaves. Begin the activity by taking a walk to collect
leaves of different shapes and sizes. For this activity, you will need coloured
pencils. If you do this activity in the Fall use colours
like red, orange, yellow, brown and even some green. Carefully use a pencil sharpener to scrape
the leads of the coloured pencils. Do not trim the wood of the pencils, but just
the lead. Place a leaf on a sheet of paper and then
take some pencil dust and rub it from the edge of the leaf to the
outside. Go all around the leaf using the same technique
and varying the colours. Then take other tree leaves and again use
the same process. When you remove the leaves, you see the outline
