Living Canvas Vertical Garden

I’m Alec. I’m here talking with Chris at Florafelt about his Pro Wall System about a greenwall I did in my backyard that was a nice exploratory effort between us, to see what we could do and what fun things we could grow. Most I was really intrigued and interested about how succulents would do and how long they would take to grow in and what different varieties of succulents where were and their forms and combinations of colors, what kind of palette we could develop, as well as trying out edible gardening which was really fantastic and something that I’ll probably do again as I shift plants around which is one of my favorite things about this wall. The main thing with this wall that I wanted to accomplish is I’ve seen a lot of work done that made these larger tapestries of plants so that you get this more broad and cohesive kind of canvas. so it becomes this big wall that is really beautiful but I wanted to be able to highlight the different kind of species of plants and it becomes more of a dynamic wall when you have all sorts of things mixed together playing off of each other. You can see some things are are kind of slow growers and within a few years they’re going to flush out. but you can see something like these faster growing jade relatives are growing in and getting really dense and these guys are getting these really beautiful forms and beautiful colors. The most wonderful thing, I think is to be able to kind of just, play. It’s like a moving, living canvas.
