Luxury Interior Designer based in London – Ula Burgiel

hi I’m Ula Burgiel and I’m a luxury
interior designer. Are you tired of over designed luxury houses? I know how you feel. Imagine coming back home from a busy day
and immersing yourself into your perfect home. My job as a luxury interior
designer is to make sure that you don’t notice the design. The perfect home will be
created for you and with you in mind. Do you remember this feeling when you try
on new clothes in the shop and it fits so nicely? your perfect home should have
the same feeling. I think that’s simple and minimal
aesthetic brings out the best out of any space. I love the minimal aesthetic and
believe that less is more. For me being a luxury interior designer
is to find the hidden potential of the space. I don’t just hide an interior
under a tone of accessories; instead I think how can I open it up, change the layout
and unveil its true potential. So I wanted to tell you a bit about why
sketching is so important in my work. Interior design sketching is a way of
forming the interior design ideas. It’s a way of testing if these ideas actually
make sense. Because sometimes you have a lot of
inspirational images from magazines or Pinterest. It looks great but it’s just
not fit for your space. So sketching for me is testing the overall idea for the
space. As a luxury interior designer in a city like London you have to be able to
produce creative ideas, original ideas as well. And sketching three-dimensional
spaces it’s the only truly original way to do it. When you design interiors you
have to think spatially. You have to imagine how the design features will fit
into the space. It’s a very creative, very personal process. I usually do so many
sketches of one space; it’s not only one final illustration. It’s actually a way
of testing one, two, three, ten design ideas and seeing which one is actually
the best fit. I love working on London projects especially the central location
such as Knightsbridge, Belgravia and Mayfair. I find its culture and art that inspires
my work as a luxury interior designer. Before I moved to London I remember my
design professor at university walking into the studio and saying: “Practical art
is called interior design. It’s the type of art that makes you smile the
most”. In other words everyone needs some art in their life. The location of the property has a big
impact on my interior design process and research. For example a villa in the
South of France will obviously be different than an apartment in New York. High-end interior design is a way of
bringing the best out of a space. It transforms it into a perfect home. High-end or luxury interior design is a
service that gives you your perfect bespoke home. A home designed to be as
unique as you. Your home is a reflection of your favorite things, your daily
routines. The bespoke design is so specific to you that to me it feels like
painting a modern portrait. Remember it doesn’t have to speak to the masses it
only has to speak to you. The most important thing about the high-end
interior design is the concept. I start every design from scratch which
evolves thanks to personalized research. From the overall idea I work my way down
to details. It has to be achieved with a truly exceptional artistic process. You
want your home to have style not to be just a compilation of online
inspirations. Even though I’m based in London I work on projects worldwide such
as New York, Hong Kong, Mauritius, Miami, Kiev and Cape Town. Each location
deserves a unique approach. I create unique spaces. Modern and minimal styles
are my preferred interior design styles. Which you can see in all my projects.
