MADE HERE | Fine Woodworking and Unique Art

I started this business
about three years ago. The whole reason I started
was because I always had a passion for art
and woodworking. I’ve been doing fine
woodworking for approximately thirty
one years now. I think the reason I love
working wood so much is because the each piece
of wood is unique. I sorta joke to
friends of mine. Saying that the wood sort
of speaks to me and it really does because I can
work on a piece and I may think that I’m gonna carve
this into some sort of maybe a jewelry box. Then right in the middle
of it I’ll say, no that would actually be better
with this thing or that thing or whatever. Just by the grain
pattern and stuff. My most favorite piece of
work that I’ve done, was a clock that I built for my
father, who passed away a couple years ago. It was very special to me
because he was my hero and I wanted to build
something that was very very unique. And he was from
Alberobello, Italy. and I actually built this
clock an I carved the face of the clock, that looks
like his home town. And when I presented
it to him he was pretty overwhelmed. It was just a
great feeling. I’m not doing it
for the money. I do this because the
passion that I have for my art. When people come up to my
booth and see my piece of art maybe fall in love
with it and want to buy it. They spend money on it. To me it’s like, so cool. It brings me back to the
day when I was a musician and hearing people clap
when you get done playing a song. It’s That that Ohh, it’s
that that rush, you know. People that live here they
want to see something different. They want to see something
unique and rather than going down to the to
the local box stores or supermarkets in
in such to shop. Having crafters and
artists locally is is very appealing to
individuals like that. When I go out I love to
see original work and original art pieces. And from speaking with
a lot of my customers. They feel the same way.
