What is good design? Is it functional, aesthetic, efficient? How does design shape the world in which we live, work and play? The Interior Design Program at Mississippi State University answers these questions through a comprehensive design education, where students learn to create meaningful, functional, efficient and comfortable spaces. Working alongside industry professionals, students learn to meet clients’ practical and aesthetic needs. Commercial interior design education in our program balances safety, quality of life, productivity and the environment. And our hands-on approach uses real-world projects, giving students a competitive advantage as they launch their careers. Student design competitions foster collaboration across many construction-related disciplines and with a range of industry partners. Graduates of our program are skilled design problem-solvers and design decision-makers. Continuously accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation since 1993, the Interior Design Program at Mississippi State University provides students with the tools they will need to make a lasting impression on the world.
