Jesus told the Jews who refused to believe in Him, “I do not accept praise from men, but I know you. I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts. I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.” (John 5:41-43 NIV) “No wonder you can’t believe! For you gladly honor each other, but you don’t care about the honor that comes from God alone.” (John 5:44 NLT)

“Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death – even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:5-11 NIV)

Those who follow the example of our Lord Jesus Christ (who obeyed God by suffering our curses for sin to set an example for us and who died in our place to save us from God’s wrath) will also be honored when Jesus returns in His Kingdom. He says: “I will invite everyone who is victorious to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne. Anyone who is willing to hear should listen to the Spirit and understand what the Spirit is saying to the churches.” (Revelation 3:21-22 NLT) So "…Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38) Thank God for His Son, a gift too wonderful for words! (2Corinthians 9:15)
