‘River water, no thanks’ – Grundfos Water2Life

Ms. Hanh is proud of her cows. For a poor family in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta,
a healthy cow is of great value. And for the past six months, Ms. Hanh’s animals
have gone through a remarkable change. Since we got access to clean water they have got
smooth skin, a good health and have gotten fatter. If we want to save water and serve them
river water, they will not drink it. They sniff at the water, but they will not have it. This proves how the general living conditions for
humans and animals are raised – – when access to clean water is available. A clear result of Water2Life. The Water2Life project in Vietnam
is going very well. Because it really serves the need for clean
water for the people in rural areas. I see a project where partners collaborate. Grundfos, East Meets West our partner and the
public authorities, they all collaborate – – they use each other and they support
each other in the project – – so that they can work the best possible,
because they work together. East Meets West is monitoring the water systems and
they provide training for the new water enterprises. And by inviting other water persons from the private
sector to the seminars, the knowledge is shared. In this way, even more people can
benefit from Water2Life. And by taking part in the project, the local water
authorities can improve their knowledge as well. In my opinion, Water2Life is a very important
project for the local communities. Not just this one, but for all the local communities. In the Vĩnh Lộc community, neighbors have
gathered to discuss the water situation. Several of the households have not yet been
connected to the water system. And having to drink the river water makes people
concerned about the health of their families. People might boil it, but it is still river water. When I think of myself drinking that water, I would
very much want to have clean drinking water. It is hard to imagine. So far, more than 17.000 people have
been able to access clean water – – thanks to the funding from Grundfos employees. Thank you for giving me an opportunity
to help my own people.
