In this video, we’re going to review the basics
of how to screen print. And the first and most important thing is make sure everything
you need is close at hand. Your screen is well secured. You have your bucket of water
with your sponge. Your ink, your squeegee. You also want to make sure you have a drying
area, a table or something like that where you can lay out the dried prints. Once the
ink goes down on your screen, it does slowly start to dry. If it dries on the screen, it
will fill these holes and you will lose your image. For really fine detail work, this obviously
happens a lot faster and big blocks of ink over here. So, let’s begin. The first thing
you’re going to do is you’re going to run a bead of ink across the top of your screen.
The most common mistake that people make is they put too much ink on their screen. You
really just need a bead. You can always add more if you need it. You want it to extend
the width of your image. That’s plenty.
