Good morning. My name is Marvellous I’m Osa Seven. I’m a graffiti artist and design consultant from Lagos, Nigeria The first time I met Marvellous is actually the first time I’m trying to communicate with someone who is deaf. The most interesting thing about Marvellous is that he has won medals playing proper sports and also has the flair of art. If he’s not in the field, Marvellous likes making things. He uses watercolor to draw them. He likes to draw with his computer. Today I’m teaching Osa how to play hockey. When he invited me to play with him, I was scared at first. I didn’t even know how to hold the hockey stick. The way he showed me, like there’s so much power when you swipe. He taught me all that, I didn’t know anything before. It was actually my first time trying to play hockey. Learning from someone like Marvellous, it’s awesome. On a normal day, if he’s going for training we go on public transportation. And if he’s training several times, we leave at 5:30 am. The fact that he’s a young Nigerian trying to do all these things is very impressive and inspiring that he’s pushing the limits and trying to be a better person, you know. Tomorrow Osa will teach me painting. I brought Marvellous to Festac and we created this fantastic artwork together and he practically took over. I didn’t really have to teach him how to handle a spray can. He’s a natural. It’s really inspiring to see a young kid who can not only play hockey and be one of the best players on the team, being with me and us creating this artwork together. I want you guys to go to Austria and get the gold!
