Spray painting cinder block walls.

Spray painting cinder block walls.

in this video by ABN painting we’re spray painting the block wall that goes around the back of the house and we start our preparation process by pressure washing the wall in the areas where is a dirt on the bottom of the wall we’re using a lower pressure so the dust doesn’t get back on the wall after pressure washed it next step is masking we masked off anything that we don’t want to get the paint on using an inch-and-a-half green tape we tape those part of the wall that is being shared with the neighbor we covered the side gate using a combination of paper and plastic we covered the gate on the other side of the house in exact same way there are two gates in the backyard that we mask using paper and just before spray-painting we set up our paint sprayer on a tarp that will catch any possible drips or spills as this block wall has never been painted before for the first coat we’re using a primer we are applying dunn edwards masonry primer that’s called eff stop it works great not only on unpainted cinder block walls but also for any kind of masonry surfaces before spray painting we looked over on the other side of the wall to make sure that there is nothing that can be over sprayed and when we painting the top portion of the wall we don’t have to worry about an overspray being an issue after we’re finished with the first coat of primer we give it some time to dry before applying the paint when we apply paint as the second and a top coat we spray it in both directions first side to side and then up and down it will help eliminate any inconsistencies in a spray pattern left by the first coat of primer this is the look of the wall after we finished with spray painting touch-ups and clean up
