The Jim Morrison mural at Venice Beach, California, USA | Muzikxpress 014

Hey there, welcome to another episode of Muzikxpress. My name is Twan and in this week’s vlog I’m gonna show you the Jim Morrison mural, which you can find in Venice, California in the USA. Plus I will show you some more of
beautiful Venice Beach. Enjoy! Venice is a neighborhood within Los Angeles, California in the United States of America. It was founded back in the year 1905
and it’s known for its canals, the beaches, the skate park, Muscle Beach and the famous Ocean Front Walk. It was definitely one of my favorite spots I got to see during my trip to L.A. Venice is also the place where one of the greatest rock groups of all time was formed. Back in 1965 Jim Morrison and Ray Manzarek formed
“The Doors” here on Venice Beach. James Douglas Morrison, was born on the 8th of December 1943, in Melbourne, Florida in the USA. He became the frontman of “The Doors”
and together with the band He was responsible for hits such as “Break On Through”, “People Are Strange”, “Riders On A Storm”
and of course “Light My Fire”. At 1811 Speedway in Venice, just a 2 minute walk from the beach, you can find this beautiful
Jim Morrison mural. The mural is a creation of Rip Cronk,
who made it back in 1991. In the year 2012, the entire painting got
a major makeover. The background colors were changed, plus some additional details were added as well. It’s a great dedication, to one of the biggest
rock and roll stars of the 60s and early 70s. All right that was it this week’s vlog.
