TN H2O – Tennessee’s Water Plan

TN H2O – Tennessee’s Water Plan

Tennessee has been blessed with
abundance of water resources. With more than 60,000 miles of rivers and streams,
water is critical to Tennessee’s economy. From manufacturing and recreation, to
agriculture and energy production, Tennessee’s water has been critical in
making the state a great place to live, work, and raise a family. But to maintain
that prosperity for future generations, it’s important that we develop a roadmap
for how we will Stuart this god-given natural resource into the future. To
tackle this dynamic challenge, Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam has assembled a
steering committee of top leaders to develop a comprehensive statewide water
plan; working groups will conduct research, and gather the data and
information needed to meet guidelines for the plan – which will be established
by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation. Water is
the lifeblood of our communities and is vital to our continued prosperity. We all
have a stake in making sure it’s effectively utilized for future
generations. TN H2O Tennessee’s water plan.
