Vessel Sinks: Form or Function in the Bathroom?

>>Julia: Hi there. My name is Julia. I am with uniquevanities.com. I wanted to talk to you about vessel sinks. We had this conversation over the weekend
with some clients. It was a husband and wife and one was interested
in a vessel sink and one was not. What it boils down to, the question was, are
vessel sinks for form or function? Vessel sinks are really for a certain look. You are looking for something different, something
unique. That is the real advantage to vessel sinks. Obviously they do work very well as a sink,
so they are functional but you do tend to have splashing from the faucet when you are
using it. It’s just something to take into consideration. If you use vessel sinks in a bathroom that
is going to get a lot of use, you are going to need to be prepared to wipe up the countertop
and wipe around it regularly so you don’t end up with any damage on your natural stone
countertop. The truth is that vessel sinks really are
about looks. They are functional but they do require more
work than just a standard sink, so just take that into consideration. I have a vessel sink in my powder bath, which
actually does get quite a bit of use and I love it and I wouldn’t do any different, but
clearly I was going for a particular look. I hope that answers that question. If you have any questions for us about vessel
