Wall Decoration Decal Removal- Does the Paint Come With? | EpicReviewGuys CC

– Hi, I’m Parris, and
ostensibly today I’m going to talk about removing these decal
decorations from the wall. Do they pull the paint off? Do they leave adhesive on the wall? The company says no,
but I’m gonna find out what actually happens. Before that though, I’d
like to briefly talk about the response I got to yesterday’s video, where I mentioned and
discussed a little about the future of this channel. Really took me by surprise. (acoustic guitar music) ♫ Epic Review Guys A very pleasant surprise,
thank you to everyone for all the supportive comments, I really was expecting it to
be sort of a lackluster video because I wasn’t reviewing
a particular product in it, but wow, and thank you,
I really do appreciate all that support. I heard from a lot of people
that I have seen comment regularly on the videos, and also from people who
are the first time I think I’ve seen their name, thank
you, I appreciate all of that. Of course everyone has different ideas for what they’d like to see change, and what they’d like to see stay the same, but I think with the way I’m
going to arrange the channel, I won’t be able to please
everyone all the time, but I should be able to
please most of the people most of the time. So stay tuned for our coming
revamp of Epic Review Guys. Now in order to build new things up, we have to tear the old things down. I really like this even
though when I put it up people told me you look
like you’re now a reporter in the newsroom, but
that’s kind of a nice look. In any case this has been four
or five months on the wall, and I’m thinking the
longer it’s on the wall, the more likely it is
it’s gonna have problems with sticking or pulling paint off. So, I rechecked their website today, this is Decal Guru at
decalguru.com by the way, thank you again to Decal
Guru for sending me this. They sent me a second set,
the one that I picked out which I will be replacing this with and you’ll just have to wait and see what that one’s going to be. But I’ve rechecked their instructions, is there anything special I need to do, spray water or something to loosen up, no, just peel it off, so
everything has stayed fine the entire time it’s been here. Which continent shall I start with? Let’s pick on Scandinavia here, ’cause there’s a little bit of a loose edge to it right here. (decal crackles) Can you hear the
crk-crk-crk-crk-crk sound? Well, so far, so good. I don’t feel any adhesive left on there. I feel like I need to take care of this but I’m not gonna ever reapply it, so I suppose I could
tear it if I needed to. (decal crackles) Here you go Europe! There goes Denmark. I’ll come back for
England and Ireland later I think they’ll be a
little bit more difficult. Eastern Europe, Russia, we all know what you’ve been up to. (decal crackles) Middle East. India. Tell me when we get to Siberia. This is still sticky, oh, there it goes sticking to itself. I suppose this could
be reapplied possibly, it’s still very adhesive-y. I don’t feel anything
here on the paint, though. So far, so good. Thought you might like a
closer look at the wall where this used to be, really I don’t feel anything there and I don’t see that
any paint has come off on the back of the decal. Seems to be in good shape. Here’s the bare wall. Now if you look at the
light a certain way, I’m not sure if you can see this, but there’s an area that looks
like that is the only thing yeah I can see it here on
the screen of the camera, so I think you can see that, looks like South America, Central America, but that’s the only place I see that. Now the continents came off
in two or three minutes, the islands were another 15 minutes of digging with my
fingernails to get them off. There is this on the back of the vinyl, and I don’t know, the wall is textured, so it has something to do with that, but is that where a little
bit of adhesive came off or is that where a little
bit of finish from the paint came off, I’m not sure. Looking at it again with the flashlight, I think this was actually, possibly Africa if it was part of the
decal, right along here, and it’s only if you shine
the light a particular way and stand in a particular place, it does look like that part of Africa is still visible there
for whatever reason, now I’ve looked with the flashlight across the rest of where the decal was, and I can’t see anything else, so not sure what to make of that. Okay, I pulled Africa out of
the wrapped up mess of these, and let me show you where I
think I see the outline of it, and then see if it
matches, like right here and then coming up this side. Is that about the same? So it’s still inconclusive, I dunno, when I watch
the video when I edit it I’ll see if that Africa
shape really does line up with that slight little
difference in the wall. It didn’t take any paint
off, but it’s possible it did something to
the finish of the wall. I may have also been a little over-zealous with the blowdryer and
the slidey plastic thing trying to get it to stick
on at that point as well. It’s one of those things
that no one would notice walking into the room,
but if you know it’s there immediately when you walk
in and flip on the light your eye’s gonna look and see it and it may kinda bother you. I will attempt to let go of
that obsessive compulsive side of myself, and try
the next set of decals, wall decorations, at least I’ll
make sure they cover that up so I won’t see it, though
I will have to wait on that until I get the table
and chairs out of here and tomorrow I’m taking
delivery of the next piece of furniture that I’m
going to try out in here, that takes three to six hours to assemble. But once that’s in place
and I know right where it goes here on the wall, then I can put the new
decal right above it. You can check out the
Decal Guru at the link right down below this video. Now I still really do like
this vinyl applique way of decorating the wall because
it’s fairly easy to install, and it’s easy to change
out with other patterns so you can try different
designs over time. Hopefully Pierre will assist
me in my massive construction project that I have going on tomorrow. Right now it’s time to
move out the furniture and clean up the floor
and get ready for that. Keep checking back for our future videos or you can click that

  1. if you have sunlight coming into that room on that wall it may have slightly faded the paint around the decal which is why you'll see the slight difference in coloration I used to apply vinyl decals for businesses and that was very common to happen

  2. I'm glad you got good feedback from your previous video ☺ I did see a mark left on the wall after I think it's the finish that was effected. love your shirt today. looking forward to seeing the new things.

  3. Walls just get dirty sometimes. Either dust or debris floating in the air. The vinyl stickers almost acted like a protectant from my experience . I would recommended just giving the wall a quick once over with warm water.

  4. i cant believe its been 5 yrs already. i love you guys i love the reviews of products thats what brought me to you in the first place and it's why i stayed. looking forward to seeing what your gonna change.

  5. the paint outline was due to fading. the paint behind the sticker was preserved while all the rest of the paint was exposed to sun and everything in the air. same thing will happen if you leave a picture frame up on the wall for a long time. does nothing to the paint but you can still see an outline when it is removed. same goes for decals on a car etc etc.

  6. I've been watching for about three years now and was perfectly happy with it as it was. I totally support your changes and am just grateful you will continue on. Thanks for such an enjoyable channel.

  7. I'm glad you're staying. Watching YouTube just wouldn't be the same.
I do think that 4 reviews a week is more realistic than 5. It can get costly if you have to purchase the products yourself. Plus you have more time for production and editing.
Also maybe stick more to products for adults (17 and up). Like 80/20. I know as for me, I don't watch your videos about children's toys.
By the way, my son thinks you should put Overwatch posters or decals for your wall. 😉

  9. I think someone already mentioned it, but it just may be fading from sun hitting the wall around the decal. You might want to just wash the wall down a bit too-perhaps it's just dirty?

  10. I think the outline you're seeing is just because that area of the wall is cleaner. Perhaps just from your hands smoothing the edges. Try gently cleaning the wall to see if that helps, a magic eraser would work great to remove it if your paint can handle it.

  11. Forgot to comment on last video but I could kinda compare you to crazy Russian hacker, he is an older guy but still is fun to watch on the topic of reviews.

  12. Am I the only one that was impressed with his knowledge of all the countries? Made me feel kind of dumb, ha.

  13. Awesome it didn't damage the wall when you removed it. Undisturbed paint behind decals, amazing what can transpire in only 4 months. Love your shirt.

  14. Hahaha Parris I'll be looking for that video of Pierre "assisting" you. BTW that pink polo really looks good on ya, you sexy beast you, lol. Didn't really go well with the orange decal behind you, glad that's gone. Orange was never my fav color unless I'm eating one 🙂

  15. good to see how this came off the wall, might try some soon myself. As a renter its good to see things like this that leave no after marks.

+epicreviewguys been watching your vids for years, keep up the good work 👍😁

  16. What is the paint finish (flat, semi-gloss, etc.) and how old was the paint? I wonder if that would make a significant difference in removal. Also I'm glad you are keeping the channel.

  17. Hahaha, I know that OCD type feeling. My birds shredded a piece of wallpaper and I stuck a new piece over it, no one sees it but I see it every time! 😛

  18. I've been watching at least 2 years and I will keep watching no matter what changes are made-hey, it's your channel! Too bad we can't get rid of Russia that easy, eh?
