Where Are They Now? Home Improvement CAST

Where Are They Now? Home Improvement CAST

After debuting in 1991, Home Improvement instantly
became a hit – staying in the top 10 spots for a television series during its entire
eight-season run. Since the show’s final episode on May 25th,
1999, many fans are left asking what the cast has been up to as of late – so, where is the
cast of Home Improvement now? Tim Allen – Tim Taylor
Tim Allen starred as the loveable, grunting father and television host, Tim “the Toolman”
Taylor. Finding a niche for himself in family sitcoms,
Allen currently plays the lead role of Max Baxter in ABC’s The Last Man Standing – as
well as continuing to voice the character Buzz Lightyear in all things Toy Story – the
4th of which is set to release in 2018 – as well as jolly ol’ Saint Nick in The Santa
Clause movies. Tim loves the state of Michigan, evident by
his love for the Detroit Lions in Home Improvement, and today, you can hear his voice in all of
the state-sponsored “Pure Michigan” tourism commercials. As for his personal life, he’s been happily
married to his wife, Jane Hajduk since 2006 and currently has homes in both Michigan and
California. Patricia Richardson – Jill Patterson-Taylor
Since playing Tim’s wife, Jill Taylor, actress Patricia Richardson’s career has died off
a bit – though she’s continued to work in television series and made for TV movies. From 2002 to 2005, she had a starring role
as Dr. Andy Campbell in Strong Medicine. She’d get a small recurring role on The West
Wing as Sheila Brooks and just recently, in 2015 and 2016, she had a couple of guest appearances
with her Home Improvement co-star on Tim Allen’s new sitcom, Last Man Standing as Helen Potts. Zachery Ty Bryan – Brad Taylor
Zachery Ty Bryan played the eldest of the three Taylor boys, Brad. Bryan had a number of small guest spots on
television, in shows such as Touched by an Angel, The Outer Limits, Smallville and Veronica
Mars, as well as getting the star role in Thor: Hammer of the Gods, a made for TV movie
in 2009. His major focus in life now, besides his wife
and two children – is producing, especially indie-horror films such as Prowl and Dark
Tourist. Jonathan Taylor Thomas – Randy Taylor
Known throughout the 90’s as a teen heart throb, Jonathan Taylor Thomas played the middle
Taylor boy, Randy. Thomas had actually departed from Home Improvement
before the end of the show, as he wanted to focus more on his schooling – eventually graduating
from Columbia in 2010. He doesn’t do much acting, mostly guest appearances
in shows the likes of 8 Simple Rules and Last Man Standing. Taran Noah Smith – Mark Taylor
One time actor Taran Noah Smith, who played the youngest brother, Mark, said the biggest
thing he had learned from his time on Home Improvement is that he absolutely didn’t want
to be an actor for the rest of his life. He stuck to his decision and began running
a company that produced vegan meals called PlayFood, before it was shut down by the city
for allegedly operating illegally. Sadly, he faced what most child actors do
and has fallen into rough times. In 2012, he was arrested for DUI and possession
of marijuana and in 2015, his real-life mother, Candy Bennici, wrote the book “Stardom Happens,”
which documented his life and gives readers an insight of what a child actor goes through. Richard Karn – Al Borland
Richard Karn, who played Al Borland, the co-star in both Home Improvement and the show within
a show, Tool Time, portrayed the character as a corny, shy, nervous and lovable bear
who could never impress the ladies, and was the best friend to Tim Taylor. After Home Improvement ended, Richard would
go on to appear in many small roles such as Theo in That ’70’s Show, Air Bud: Seventh
Inning Stretch and Snow Buddies and many made for TV movies. He’d go on to play in 2 episodes of Last Man
Standing – but one of his bigger roles since then would have to be the host of Family Feud
from 2002 to 2006. Debbe Dunning – Heidi Keppert
Debbe Dunning was cast to play tool-girl Heidi Keppert as a replacement for Pamela Anderson
when she left the show to do Baywatch. Dunning, for the most part, has stepped away
from acting having spot appearances here and there, such as Hope Lorca in Wicked Wicked
Games from 2006 to 2007 and a role in 2016’s The Prophet. Earl Hindman – Wilson
Earl John Hindman is undoubtedly best known for his role as Wilson W. Wilson, Jr. – the
half-faced, wisdom dropping neighborino. After the show came to its end, Hindman made
appearances throughout television, having roles in Law & Order, Law & Order: Criminal
Intent and the made for TV movie, Hopewell, before his untimely death in 2003. Known to be a heavy smoker, Hindman succumbed
to lung cancer at age 61. All is not lost, however, as his voice can
still be heard on the Disneyland Railroad in Anaheim, California.

  1. Great sum up of each ones saga … unfortunately wilson didn't get a chance to see this but thats life ….or well the remnants of ….. farewell guys

  2. Why are we not hearing the details of Taran Noah Smith being seduced at the age of 13 by his on-set "Teacher" – causing him to leave home at an early age and marry the child-molester?

  3. I know why Pamela Anderson left the home improvement show she got fired from the show because the producers found out she did couple of playboy magazines there way way back in the very mid late years ago here it was back in the 1990's here that's why Pamela got fired from that show from Cameron here in Victoria Australia

  4. I'm amazed that got his career intact much as he has , because he was charged with drugs possession coke cain got off vary lighty …not like the other actor Stacy Keach from Wiseguy I and did prison time and ruined his career for years

  5. It’s honestly awesome Tim accomplished all this after being caught smuggling cocaine. I watch this show every night 8-10, well the reruns anyways. They don’t make them like they used to.

  12. I think one of the reasons for the success is that everyone of us knows a guy like "Yeah, i can fix that, no prob" before the desaster starts. Famous last worlds "Ah, of course i can fix a high voltage wire"

  13. Home Improvement and iconic sitcom of the 90's

Tim Allen has and is just a cool guy and is a real car guy. I'm glad to see he has brought former cast members on his last man standing sit com. It shows mutual respect.

I can't believe Earl Hyndman ( Wilson) passed away back in 2003.

  14. Knew Tim Allen from some parties in Michigan, my son met Taron Noah and hung out with him in fort wayne , Indiana, both nice guys

  15. Shows like Home Improvement were genuinely good back in the day. The tv shows made now are crap-ugh I feel old and I used to take them for granted.

  16. 1:45 Patricia Richardson's character on LMS (as a guest star) was hilarious–a lot funnier than the rest of the show, IMHO.   4:00  I didn't know Richard Karn once guest-starred on That 70's Show, wearing a funky wig… 😉  I wonder if Tim Allen's real-life wife (Jane Paduc (sp??)) is an actress?

  17. It was my favorite show in the 90s , and still is . I watch it all the time . Just can't get enough of this show. It will always be my #1 show . oooh oooh oooh … oooooah !!!
